SPORT AT CHANEL
Chanel College has a long and proud sporting tradition and offers extensive sporting opportunities for students.
At Chanel College, we pride ourselves on our sportspersonship, teamwork, having fun and giving any sport ‘a go’.
The sporting program, over four terms, is overseen by the Co-Curricular Sport Leader, Ms Kylie Kickbusch, who is assisted by a number of staff members and some Chanel College Alumni.
Students participate a wide variety of sports including rugby league, rugby union, AFL, soccer, basketball, netball, volleyball, tennis, cricket, athletics, cross country, and swimming.
Chanel College is a member of the Port Curtis School Sport Competition which includes ten schools from the Gladstone area. Students complete against students from these schools at an interschool level in a variety of sports and at regional selection trials for Port Curtis teams.

Each year, Chanel College enters teams in the:
- Confraternity Rugby League Shield
- QISSN Netball
- All Schools Touch Football
- Western 7’s Rugby Union
- AFL
Teams travel to venues around Queensland to compete in these state-wide sporting opportunities.
Chanel College has also been involved in the:
- Australian Marist Basketball Tournament
- All Schools Volleyball Competition
