Grab yourself a copy of the Gladstone Observer today and read the lovely story about Chanel College, Year 10 student Ryan Carson and his life saving dog Gracie.

Gracie is a diabetes detection dog for Ryan and since the pair have been together he hasn’t had a major incident.

Ryan has type 1 diabetes, where he use to have dramatic drops in his blood sugar levels, which he wouldn’t realise were happening. That’s where Gracie comes in, she alerts Ryan and he knows to act on it straight away.

Gracie can be found with Ryan at Chanel in the classroom, having lunch, watching him play sport, pretty much everywhere he goes, she goes.

Thanks to Paws for Diabetes & Gracie, Ryan can lead a normal life.
